The fourth in a series of reports from The Future of Banking, part of the IESE Business School Banking Initiative, examines the growing impact of technology on financial markets and organizations and identifies key challenges in three specific areas: financing, its use of big data and market trading.

The issues highlighted are the changes initiated by trade-offs and the electrification of financial markets involving the central bank’s extensive use of data in terms of suitability, efficiency, confidentiality and market capability of digital currency.

The digitization of financial services presents a difficult test for current financial intermediaries, agencies, exchanges and regulators. Building a modern, efficient and stable financial system is critical to harnessing the benefits of new digital technologies and addressing current policy concerns.
